In which I find something rather unexpected.
So I had to drive down to Portage and fix some modem problems. On the way back I decided that my car really needed a wash. I pulled off in Westfield and headed to the nearest gas station. Since it was was slightly above freezing for the first time in a long time, there was a line at the car wash. A long line. Since I had my laptop with me, I figured I would fire it up and play a little solitaire, or maybe even some StarCraft. As soon as I opened the laptop, I was greeted with the message, “Would you like to join the wireless network ’04Z411306367′?” Well, of course I would. Sure enough, I was connected to the Internet through some Abocom device. It was the most pleasant wait I’ve ever had for a car wash.
So if you ever find yourself in Westfield, WI and you need your Internet fix, head over to the gas station right off of Interstate 39 and surf away.
