Good question, kris – I am trying to do that as well. Have been trying for 2 weeks, and by my count I have spent 2 hours on hold with these fuckers.

I actually spoke to them 2 weeks ago, quite easily, with barely any time on hold. Unfortunately my phone died before I could complete the order. Now when I call back it’s never-ending hold time. Hmm, coincidence?

It took over five hours to cancel my bundled AT&T services. They charged me five hundred dollars worth of overages. They never gave me the 50 dollar rebate for Dish Network and tried to double charge me for an additional month of dish network services. The customer service reps are smart alecs and . They charged me for DSL that I had canceled. The bill was always wrong and I constantly had to call them. I am now with Sage and have no wireless service. I am very glad to be rid of AT&T.

Update I caught them overcharging me for $300 dollars in overadges and when I asked for an itimized bill they took off the charges. They were trying to rip me off. Be careful when dealing with AT&T.

For the past 8 months I have been over billed from 6 to $900 so every month I get the pleasure of telling the same story to a variety of (for the most part) concerned and caring people who understand my frustration and after 2-3 hours tell me ” this is absolutely not your fault” and attempt to refund my bill 150-$900 so every month my bill arrives nothing seems to happen. I have come to dread my bill and am going grey. Please any help would be greatly appreciated Ive tied a knot at the end of my rope and an barely hanging on.

I tried to quit and they told me I didn’t say “I quit” correctly and continued to bill me.

For all those ATT haters – If you and /or anyone you know has stock the way to get back is to vote against the management and the Board of Directors in upcoming proxy statement. If enough of us do, maybe the message will get through to that arrogant, out-of-touch bunch of clowns running ATT (SBC).

I’m new to AT&T bundle, sorry to say, their poor service continues. I’ve currently been on hold over 30 minutes, yes, I’ve been transferred around in between those minutes! They quoted me a bundle price, got my bill, it’s $100 over the price it’s supposed to be. So far no help!!! Grrrrr – I hate AT&T.

Signed up in Aug for $49.95 long distance plan. They billed me over $800.00 for 22 days. Many hours getting that straightened out. In Sept. changed to basic service, no long distance, and chose to have call forwarding. They said no charge for that. They charged and additional $8.00 per month. Sent the damn “Pin” number in the mail. It didn’t work. I went to another state to care for my father for a couple months. Finally got the call forwarding working. Got back to my home and got the call forwarding turned off. Now I have to go back to care for my dad again. Tried to get call forwarding working again. “Well, mamm, you have to use your pin.” I can’t find my pin. “Well you’ll have to find it. ” Send me a new one. “Oh, we can’t do that.” Why not? “Well, snicker, snicker,it’s for your security, mamm.” Then my phone quit. I sent AT& T an email message last night. They sent an email reply this AM – to the wrong email address! They said click on this link if you have a question. I clicked. The link didn’t work. Bell South was much better. AT&T has been now been reinfused with a corporate mentality that is anti-customer.

I HATE AT&T WITH A PASSION!! I have been trying to disconnect after 6 months of bills ranging from 111 to 235. I didn’t receive the dish bundle discount either. When I tried to disconnect the automated service told me I didn’t even have an account with them. Finally spoke to someone who gave me a nasty attitude and swithched me to another automated service while I was talking to her in mid-sentence ( I heard laughter in the background). Now I’m stuck having to wait until Monday because their offices are closed on the weekends even though their website claims they are open on Saturdays until 5pm. I am extremely frustrated and will forever dissuade anyone and everyone I meet about what awful customer service they have, what deceitful business practices they use, and to never, ever deal with a monster company like AT&T.

I’ve got all you topped. i had at&t ladline phone service several years back. i decided to switch to suddenlink. so i called them up. for 3 months suddenlink tried to get at&t to release my number so i could have it with their company. So finally i said screw it gimnme a new number. i started phone service with them and they informed at&t . the next month i got my final bill for them for $31 and some change. the following month i got another bill for over $60. at&t never canceled my phone account. i call them and tell them i have had suddenlink phone for several months now. they said fax us your contract and we will cancel your account on the start date. so i fax it to them. the next month i get a bill for over $100. i call them up and they say that i was never told that(canceling bill) i owe them. so i say screw it. a year later i get a letter from a collection agency i mail a letter of contest to them for the supposed bill of like 150+ dollars. it had gone up again, the bill. 2 months later i get another letter from a different collection agency for the bill. apparently when i contested it last time they hired a different collection agency and continues with their harassment. so i write ANOTHER letter of contest. a few months later i get a bill from them for $5 over what my bill was supposed to be. fine. i paid it. that was like 2 years ago. today i get a letter from then and yet another collection agency saying i owe them money.AGAIN! im so sorry i ever let at&t know i existed.
