In which I relate moments of peace and relaxation.
It’s been a relaxing weekend. I really haven’t done much of anything all weekend. I did some laundry and filled out some Best Buy rebates. Tonight I went over to Jess and Rob’s and spent some time with with them, Brad, Joyce, and Alex.
The peaceful bit came as I left. We finally got realsnow this weekend. It was cold enough that the snow wasn’t melting and there was enough snow that it stayed. I walked out of their house and the full moon was directly overhead. There are no streetlights on their street so the only light was the moonlight, and it was bright enough to cast shadows. I heard the snow crunch under my feet and saw my breath as I walked to the car. The total lack of wind left me feeling perfectly warm. It reminded me of being younger, living out in the country. I almost walked home, but practicality prevailed and I drove instead. I felt a little sad about that.
Maybe I should go cross-country ski shopping…
The other bit of peace in my life has been tea. When I was in Saint Louis, Jeff offered tea with our take-out Thai. I chose Earl Grey and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. So on my latest grocery store trip, I picked up a Tazo tea sampler pack (20 bags of 10 different flavors). So far I have tried their sweet wild orange and tonight it’s zen. I am still not a big fan, but I am trying to acquire the taste. Hopefully the sampler pack with help me find the one I like.
