In which I relate the happening at Joyce and Alex’s birthdays, the 2003 Merrill Invitational, and some other random happenings.
Alex and Joyce celebrated their birthdays this past weekend at Casa de Newby. I got pictures. It was a low-key affair but it’s always great to sit down and talk with friends. I got to grill (something I’ve had precious little chance to do over the past couple of summers since my apartment setup doesn’t make it easy). Eating, gift openings, and an evening of cable. Not a bad way to spend a fine fall day.
On Sunday, Saryn and I went to the 2003 Merrill Invitational Marching Band Competition. (What can I say, I am a long-time band geek.) I agreed before I realized that it was at 1pm on Sunday and that something else would be going on. Luckily they gave the Packer updates between shows. It was pretty impressive. Not as fun as last year’s though. It was more somber, slower, more traditional. That’s certainly not bad, but it wasn’t what I expected. If you are interested in this kind of thing, I have pictures of it too.
I spent late Sunday helping Lisa move into her new place. It’s always good to have a geek friend to help you move your computer and I am Lisa’s. I got it set up in the new place and we were only missing one thing; a keyboard. I made sure it booted and we called it a night.
I stopped at Joyce & Brad’s on Wednesday night. Alex actually played with me for a little while. Ian, Rob, and Endo were there too and we played a little Munchkin Fu.
