Snow

We didn’t get as much snow as they threatened. I’d guess that we might have gotten 5″ of the 6-12″ that they predicted. It still made for some fun driving and a few sessions of shoveling.

Way back in December we had a lot of snow. I had my mom bring cross country skis from her place around Christmas. As soon as I got the skis, it stopped snowing and got warm. I didn’t have a chance to use them without snow. With a snowfall like the one we just had, it seems like I could finally go skiing, right? No such luck. About a week ago I pulled into the garage and noticed that my skis had fallen down. The impact against the concrete shattered one of the bindings. I guess I am just not meant to ski this year.

For the first time in my life I have a garage for my car. This may not be a big deal for people in St. Louis or LA, but it’s huge around here. It was unbelievably nice to pull into the garage during the snowstorm. All the snow melted off of my car and it’s clean now. I never have to scrape it off in the morning. I may be paying a little extra for this house but it is worth it.

Update: Looks like we officially got 10-14″ of snow but it sure didn’t seem like it around my house.  Maybe the wind blew a lot of it somewhere else.
